“Rooster Sauce” is a compilation put together of a handful of friends of the Boring Tapes label. Side A showcases IDM styled music, from Shadowlab’s crunchy physics-themed breakbeats to some melodic IDM from Labtob to Lautgedichte’s thick ambience, it covers most bases. Side B starts off with a bit of a psychedelic number from Christopher Emerle, followed by some spacey arpeggiators from You are not all Boring before coming to some beatless ambient drones from Sleep in Cryostasis. An epic journey on a C39. 7 tracks, 5 artists, $6. How can you go wrong?

“This Canadian imprint has tapped into some very engaging electronic sounds and presents seven superb tracks from five artists here on the micro cassette tape format.” -OMG Vinyl, a cool as heck blog with accompanying label. Isn’t that great?

some of the sounds are a tad grating, i guess that’s why it’s called crunchy idm. Overall, a pretty cool release.
